Repurposed Pool Steps

My mother and I were out behind her house in the alley, inspecting raccoon damage. Seriously, how are such cute little critters so gross and destructive??? She spied these pool steps, tossed out by the people across the alley. She immediately dragged me over to rescue them. Why? She wanted to give them a new life. Why didn't I think of that?!?!?!

Her vision was to have me spray paint them a fun, bright color and make it into a sort of outdoor plant display. See below.

I spray painted it with two cans of Rustoleums Lagoon. I didn't prime or sand or anything, but its been a year and it still looks phenomenal! The planters were purchased at Menards for something like $3 each.  The little white globe in the picture is filled with Christmas lights. when you turn them on at night, the ball glows! Gorgeous.

If it weren't for her vision, this cute little project would have not even been. I guess we know where I get my creative genius from!

  3. As a bonafide Dumpster Diver, I would have passed these up, but if I see pool steps, I am snagging them! What vision! Turned out so cute. Visiting from Roadkill Rescue.

  4. Thanks for visiting! I wasnt giving them the time of day, that was all my moms idea. I would love to take credit, ha! I love finding treasures people pass up. Sometimes I wonder why in the world they'd let things go! Their loss, our gain!
